Supta means lying down.
- This asana gives relief from indigestion, gastritis, constipation and piles.
- There is a stimulation of all the glands resulting in a feeling of health.
Method
- In the first part one has to attain the Vajrasana. Sit down with legs extended forward.
- Fold the legs ar the knee and place the heels besides the buttocks on either side.
- Give support to the body at the knees and ankles.
- Breathe normally.
- Place the palms by the side of the feet, exhaling and supporting the elbow, lower the troso and rest on the elbows.
- Lower the head first allowing the upper head to rest on the floor.
- Stretch further by resting the back of the head.
- Ensure that the knees, shin, thighs, buttocks, shoulders and back of the head are firmly resting on the floor.
- Stretch the arms over the head, behind the ears and keep the palms facing the sky.
- Breathe normally.
- Remain in this pose of 30 seconds.
