Sanoischara (sanskrit- “slow mover*.) is reputed to be both, a giver and destroyer. Prayers to Sanaischara
alleviates the problems and womes. Of all the nine planets, Sanaischara, the off spring of surya and
chaaya, inspires the most awe. This is because he is said to hold away over a person’s fortune throughout
the life. In vedic astrology, saturn represents a loss of awareness, or ignorance. Saturn is a karaka, or
indicator, of longevity, misery, sorrow, old age and death, discipline, restriction, responsibility, delays,
ambition, leadership and authority, humility integrity, wisdom born of experience. Saturn also indicates
asceticism, denial, non-attachment, spirituality, hard work, organization, reality and time itself. Starting
from the position of this planet in the horoscope to the corresponding placements of other planets, lord
soni is believed to influence the course of one’s life. Sanaischoro resides in each rasi for a period of 12
years.

When sanaischara resides in the 12th, 1st and 2nd house, it is 7 vi naatu sani; when in the 4th
house, it is ardhashtomo sani; when in the 8th house, it is ashtama sani. During these periods, he
troubles the native. Problems from government, wife, children, slowdown in business, loss of property,
deseases ore caused by the transit of soni. In a person’s life, 7’/7 Noatu sani aspects thrice, the first called
mangu sani, the second called pongu sani and the third called marano sani. Dhyanam: “nilonjana
samobhasam ravi putrom yamara|am, choya marttanda sambhutam tarn namami sanaischoram” moola
mantra: “aum hrim shrim graha sakravortine sanoischaraya klim aim sauh svaha” gayatri: aum
sanoischarya vidhomhe, sooryaputraya dhimahi, tanno manda prochodayat. Sanaischora is a beneficient
“graha”. Any adverse effect is due to placement in an individual horoscope which could be overcome by
worshipping him.
